We're not that kind of couple that does date night all that often.
To be honest, a movie, pyjamas and a box of chocolates is more than enough to keep us both happy, but when we were kindly invited to the friends & family opening night of Fazenda Manchester on Wednesday, it was a great excuse to spend a bit of extra effort getting ready.
As I knew we would be eating (a lot - if you're in Leeds, Manchester or Liverpool, seriously head to a Fazenda - and bring stretchy pants) I didn't want a smudgey, quick-to-wear-off lip, so I opted for a Rimmel lip crayon and worked the rest out from there!
I've spoken numerous times about my love for NARS Sheerglow and as I'm currently running out, it's saved for 'special' occassions only! Which also makes me realise just how much I love it when I see the end result. It's the perfect medium coverage, satin finish foundation for me and it really does stay put. I then added a little Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer where needed and Rimmel Wake Me Up under my eyes to brighten everything up.
As for my brows, I went for my trusty Hourglass Arch Sculpting Pencil, which I reach for on a daily basis and then moved swiftly onto the eyeshadow. I opted for my Autumn Mac Quad, using Satin Taupe all over the lid, with Sable on the outer corner and a little bit of a matte brown in the crease for a subtle, smokey purple eye. I then went for a cat-eye flick using the Soap & Glory Supercat Liner, followed by as much mascara as I could get on without getting spider lashes (note to self : buy new mascara).
Finally, I as I said above, I wanted something berry toned that would last well while eating and although I don't have many lip crayon/stains to choose from, something drew me to this Rimmel offering, shade Keep Mauving, which I actually bought in Summer and originally wasn't too keen on it. However, it actually did the job perfectly and I can see I'll get a lot of use out of it this Winter! It's a nice blend of plum/pink with great staying power and a slightly glossy finish.
And there you have it! On another side note, Fazenda Manchester was delicious and it was so lovely to be invited. If you're into your meat cooked beautifully, with a side of great wine, then that's your place.
