I remember the first time I ever used make-up.
Fast forward fourteen years; many beauty disasters & a second home in Boots later, and I still get that invincible feeling when I've 'put my face on.' However, inspired by Alex's comment that she very rarely wears makeup, I've really been trying to cut back, go for a more natural look and just embrace what my face truly looks like.
Freckles, scars, beauty marks, pigmentation; these are all things that make us different from the next and sometimes it just feels good to look in the mirror and accept them for what they are. No criticisms allowed. Because what you might see as a flaw, could be perceived as your most beautiful feature to somebody else.
So I thought I would share some of my natural beauty enhancing products for make-up beginners and minimal make-up wearers alike. Nothing heavy and covering, rather tools & products to make the most of those features that make us who we really are.

I strike a balance between the two. Day to day I usually stick to a very natural look due to lack of time to get ready, but I love going through the whole process when I'm going out and really enjoy it.

Me too! I really do enjoy applying a bit of everything when I get the chance, but it's nice to strip it back every once in a while too :) xx
DeleteEyelash curlers are just a must aren't they! I absolutely love them.

Yes! They're such an essential xx
DeleteI only started wearing make up when I was like 17, don't know why!

I kinda wish I had delayed it but I've enjoyed the make-up journey so far! xx
DeleteI have to say; your blog is fast becoming one of my favorites! It's incredibly gorgeous
ReplyDeleteAh that just put the biggest smile on my face, thank you so much! xx
DeleteGreat tips Sam.
ReplyDeleteI have always struggled with make-up and can rarely get it right. It is either too stark or hideous, a clown effect. Since dipping into your tiny paint pots you have taught me so much. Although I am two and a half times your age I feel this post may have helped me the most. I am sure I can manage these tips. - Thank you.
I'm so pleased! :) thank you xx
DeleteI love your blog!

I just always love the way I look with my brows done, but everything else bare. Beautiful on my own way, but still put together :)

I prefer not wearing make up everyday as I like my skin feeling 'free'! But it is a bit down to my laziness as I just can't be bothered to do much day to day. I feel my brows need to look ok and I need to cover any spots or blemishes and then I'm goo to go

I definitely try to play up what I've got in my everyday makeup looks. Then, it is fun sometimes to go super dramatic for a night out. Makeup is fun for enhancing natural beauty - as well as just creating a whole new face. Viva la makeup!
