Lets Paint : Illustration Video

Something a little bit different today!

As you may or may not know, I have a Youtube channel. I've been trying to get my head around what I want to be on it (and failing, as you can see by the big gaps in between filming!) but as I was about to paint my little rattie Skye, I figured I would try record a little video to go with it!

I was asked a while back if I'd ever record how I do my illustrations, and although I'm not entirely pleased with the end result of this piece, I thought it would be good to see what I use and how I do it - if you're interested in that kinda thing!

Like I said, it's by no means a masterpiece, but as I did a little painting of my rat Pebbles, it was only right I did one for her! I hope you like it anyway.

Let me know what you think & any ideas for future videos are more than welcome!

  1. You're really talented, and that's a lovely picture. It's inspired me to get painting again myself. Also, I was sorry to hear that your beautiful rats passed away.

    1. Thanks so much Robyn! That means a lot :) I love your illustrations too. I would've liked this to have turned out better but I think I rushed it for recording reasons! Maybe I'll do another one another day. Xx

  4. i loved watching your video i love illustrations and i do hope that you do them again in the future. I bought a moleskin watercolour book today and i cant wait to get painting you definantly inspired me to pick up my brush again. I also want to say sorry for the loss of your skye i recently also loss my cat riddles who i loved dearly many may find it silly but its very weird when they pass away they troy become part of the family and not seeing them everyday really does hurt. I bet you cried a lot because when my little riddles did i really dodnt know what to do with myself. this was a lovely thing to do in skye's memory

    1. Thank you Laura! :) I'm 100% sure you can, that's nothing more than a doodle really. Just put your paint to paper and see what you get, practice makes perfect after all! Xx
