Products of the Day

Between working from home, early starts and heading to the gym; things have gotten a little lazy in the 'beautifying myself' department.

So, today I thought I would actually put a bit of effort in; which included a much needed hair pamper, i.e. actually washing it and not just throwing it up in a bobble, plus a full face of makeup. I seem to have developed a knack of leaving my hair in between washes as long as I can possibly get away with (around four days, five at a push. yup. lazy), and not exactly bothering with time consuming looks such as liquid eyeliner - ain't nobody got time for that; or at least, I don't anymore. Painting such a pretty picture here, aren't I?

Anyway, here are some of the products used today… Some I love, some I don't.
Base :

Revlon PhotoReady Primer - this stuff is awesome & a new one for me. I couldn't tell what it was that I loved about it at first, until I went to a Spinning class and realised my foundation was STILL in place after thirty minutes of intense sweating. Great for oily skinned gals as it gives a slight matte finish to your base and keeps everything in place like a dream.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum - my current go to day - to - day foundation. It's lovely and lightweight but provides enough coverage for my liking. *thumbs up*

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer - cheap & cheerful but does a good job of hiding the fact that I'm a very light sleeper and am constantly tired. One swipe and you're good to go.

Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer - another product for under the eyes, but one that I actually prefer to use on any blemishes as it hides them brilliantly! You only need a small amount and it's like they were never there. Hurrah!

Kevin Aucoin Sculpting Powder - I received this for Christmas (thanks to blogger influence) and I'm not sure how I ever really lived without it… It does what it says on the tin and you only have to use the smallest amount, so you know it will last forever (and so you'd hope at £35 a pop). Sculpted cheekbones all round!

Eyes & brows :

Hourglass Arch, Soft Brunette - another blogger influence purchase, but one I couldn't miss out on. Naturally defined, amazing looking brows? Uh, yes please. After a bit of practise, I do find it easy to use, but not one for girls with thinner brows, I wouldn't think, due to the thick nib. It has a lovely natural colour to it and the wax/powder hybrid keeps my 'brows in place all day (and night) long.

Origins Peeper Pleaser, Cream Puff & Mac Wedge - being new to trying Origins makeup range, I was really pleasantly surprised by their eyeshadows. It has great staying power and the shade makes a great base for any look. I added a bit of Mac Wedge for extra definition!

Illamasqua Precision Ink, Abyss - this stuff really gets on my nerves. Why are you using it then? I'm sure you're wondering, (probably not, but I'mma tell you anyway). It's very wet and doesn't set quickly; meaning once you go over it, which you need to do as it doesn't come out completely black, it starts to disappear. The nib is good for fine lines, but that's probably all I like about it. (I can't afford to buy a new one as of yet; recommendations, for when I do, would be much appreciated!)

Maybelline the Falsies - do I really need to explain? No. Have a quick look around my blog and you'll see why. All time favourite. Wonderful lashes. End of.

Colour & shimmer :

Origins Pink Your Cheeks, Tropical Pink - another newbie to my collection is this lovely, if not a little daunting, blush from Origins. Don't let the intensity put you off, as this gives the prettiest, most natural pink flush to your cheeks. I absolutely love it & it would be great for Summer! Plus the compact has a mirror too. Winning.

Mac Mineralise Skinfinish, Soft & Gentle - a lovely, natural highlight, that's not too 'in your face shimmer' but rather a gentle glow, as the name would suggest.

Mac Plumful - sticking to the pink-ish theme, I opted for a swipe of Plumful. It adds just enough colour to lift the whole face, but not too dark to get away with in the day time. One of my all time favourites - thank you Amy!

That is a long list isn't it? So it's not the quickest make-up look in the world, but it definitely made me feel slightly more 'put together' than normal!

What's your favourite product that you're wearing today?
